Hi,I have seen a Southwind SR565 any good for offshore action and at 27500 is the price about right being 2000 model with 130 yamaha on the back.Cheers Sax.

Anyway you can post a pic of that boat sounds similar to one I looked at the other day but was much more expensive than that?

Hey,
The SR565 is the sports version. Doesnt really lend itself to fishing all that well, as the coclpit is considerablly smaller than the fishing version. The cabin is also very large.
The price to me is still a little high even though its a 2000 model. Id expect to pay no more than low to mid 20's. The 130 is also not the most powerful engine ever produced.
Look out for an SF17 like basserman's, the hulls are great.
But for just under 30k, you can buy a considerably larger boat more suited to that purpose.

the cabin may be large enough in area but the height does
not do any favours. i doubt you would sit in there for long
unless your a hunchback.
i'm talking from the sf20 experience. the sr20 seemed to have
even less height and i'd imagine the 17 footers less again.
but the ride and handling of the southwind sets them apart
from many other boats of their size.
you should get a pretty reliable sf20 in good nick for about $25k
if you can find one.

pic of the sf17 this is the fishing setup southwind so it has no bunks just two large storage areas
i would dout the bunk area in the sr17 would be all that nice as there is not much room
that one reson why this one maybe sold soon so i can get something like a allsion vision21 more a famliy fishing rig that can still go hard ;)
