Can anyone offer advice.
I am trying to connect a JRC Plot500f sounder/plotter to a Lowrance GlobalNav 310 GPS unit via the NMEA wires.
The problem is that the various manuals disagree regarding the wireing.
The Globalnav 310 manual says that only one wire is required to output NMEA data. (white wire)
The Plot500F manual says that there should be a "Data Input" aswell as a "Data Common".
I have tried connecting just the white GlobalNav 310 wire to the "Data Input", and have been unable to get the two units to communicate.
I have set the NMEA output on the GPS to on, and the GPS "Position In" on the 500F to NMEA.
I am getting a "No Data" message on the 500F and when I run the self test, I can see no NMEA data listed either.
Does anyone know if my problem lies in the wireing, or is it likely to be a setting that I have wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Greg.
