I have a cannon downrigger that I want to mount to my fiberglass boat.

Problem - I don't want to drill any holes in the boat.

I was planning on:
a) modifying my bollard to adapt the downrigger mounting plate

or

b) a piece of tube with a top plate that slides into my rod holder for mounting the downrigger, problem with this is the amount of slop between the available size tube and the rod holder.

Any ideas from those with downriggers installed appreciated

Dont know if it will help at all but if you were to go and see an exhaust sytem manufacturer/ someone that fits non standard exhausts because they have a machine that will expand/shrink a piece of stainless exhaust tube about 6mm.
cheers
