wunt for a fush it tha pun - errr sorry was talking to a kiwi this arvo .......

lets start agin #again.

Went for a fish at the Pin last Sat night on the neap. As we went to leave at night after fishing the Port light blew. I carry spare bulbs - but decided to travel just on the starboard rather than hanging over the front of the boat in the dark changing things.

As I approached others boats I would turn on my fairly bright anchor light as well as the one nav light & cut my speed.

I've been thinking - why the hell do I carry spares if I'm not going to replace on the water - what do you think ?

Chris, I don't think I would have changed either.

Anyone coming up on you that saw your starbourd light would have had to give way to you and it would have made no difference that your port was out as they would not have been able to see it anyway.

Anyone coming up on you that you needed to give way to, If you were paying extra attention as it sounds like you were, you would have been able to either manuvour and give way, or changed course so they see the starbourd light so gave you way, or just see the anchour light so they would give you way anyway.

I think I have been accused of thinking too much as well!!
