suzuki 140 $15,500
115 $13,800
yamaha 115 $15 500
All these prices are putting the motor on my self and dealer doing the start up.
Also quoted $250 on the first major service
At this point I am Incline to look further at fitting a 2nd hand inboard, rebuild before fitting
Probable still have the same engine in 12 months
cheers

I did some more running around on the weekend in Adelaide and the prices I got were:

Johnson/Suzi 115 EFI 4 - $12800 Fitted
Johnson/Suzi 140 EFI 4 - $14200 Fitted
Yamaha 115 2 stroke - $10770 fitted
Yamaha 130 2 stroke - $13020 fitted
Yamaha 115 EFI 4 - $14900 fitted

So you should be able to get those prices fitted, and i'm in Adelaide and seems engines are more expensive here...

Hi chuss
Wonder what the price for a 140 suzi is in adalaide not fitted, looking at the difference so far I would be able to go and visit my sister in the barrossa and come back to tassie and still have change, might have to go to the melboune boat show and have a look
cheers

if you go in and tell em you can get it for $XXXXX fitted, they'll normally budge and match your price.

My classic line is "I can get it for $XXXXX, but prefer to do it here as the other place is further for servicing, etc.. Can you beat that price or match it?". Make your price up, but make sure it's reasonable..

Just do some calling out of the yellowpages in VIC then, get your best price and take it to them. If they can't match it, order one from VIC and get it shipped. Even if you save $1K it's worth it.

haven't ever priced them myself, but i thought from what i've heard that the Johnson 140 4 banger can be a lot cheaper than the suzi even though they're the same motor. Not sure if its due to different dealer mark ups or what - but may be worth investigating ???

Hi Bugman
Just looking, no need at the moment and probable wont happen. Paying 1.20 a liter for fuel ATM and makes me just ask questions but it takes a lot of fuel to cover them costs. I may look at a new tank under bow floor as well. Fishing wider now so fuels the real issue. the merc 115 only does 1l/1k and when you are doing trips of 170km+ you start to look at alternitives

ps
the other option is to work an extra day a week but that cuts into fishing time
