No. Checked a few deals this morning and the price of brands like Lowrance are dropping like a stone.

What model are you looking at?

I was hoping that the free trade agreement with the U.S. would mean heaps of cheap electronics goods. Not sure it has happened yet but I am still hoping.

Troy, have a look at this site and GPS/ sounder.

The colour 172C is about $1,040 plus the sounder box. ( price is somewhere in the site )

add $250 for a chart, and the whole thing works out cheaper and BETTER ( in my opinion ) than the Lowrance.

Hey guys have a look at this option: Have sussed out sounders and plotters for last 3 weeks looked at lots of local Brisbane suppliers, sussed out ebay, comared Bass Pro Shops from USA, and in the end the Cheapest I found and the service seems very impressive was the following company from the USA. Have a Browse !
I have saved almost 50 percent on what I wanted

Troy, I was checking out the very soon to be available Lowrance X102C Sounder. In the current BIAS catalog they are RRP $1,099 but advertised at $999. Yesterday at a local Lowrance dealer the RRP had dropped to $929 and he'll sell them for around $870. This is before you can get your hands on one! Once they are readily available, you'll probably see another $100 or so come off the street price. The mono X125/X135 range has already dropped 20% in price this year.
