Is copper bundy tube illegal? my gal coated stuff is only lasting 6 months! and why is it illegal if it is.

I have a lovely wooden one (has lasted for years) and was surprised to read here a while ago that it may be illegal. Do you have anywhere it could be used on the boat as a prop? in even the silliest way ;).
It's what you say in the first meeting with authority that sees you through. These days you need to be prepared to protect yourself from the law when engaging in 'no harm activites' It's a shame. nq
