Outrigger Installation

I am installing a secondhand set of outriggers on my 6 metre centre console.

I will be mounting them on the gunwale.

Mate has one idea about height and angle and have a different one. Any help appreicated.

angle so that the ends of the poles roughly line up with the transom and the height should be about twice as high as the flat lines.
