;DHi, being an old navy man there are two things I find important for boating in winter, warmth and safety.

I was considering buying a bit of wet weather gear. I looked at waders, but they are not safe if you go overboard.
Ski suit, the top half is too loose.
And the search went on, until I found Flotation Suits for sale on EBay. They are not too cheap, but they are warm and will save your life I you get into trouble.

Does anyone wear a Flotation Suit when fishing? If so, what are (if any) the downside?

i havent worn one while out fishing only when out trying to waterski and i am always looking for shade as mine is black and gets a bit hot in the full sun
