daffy i have just ordered a cruise craft 625 outsider and i did a lot of research and went for test runs and i was very happy.
as for the freeboard question there would be more qualified people on this site than me to aswer that.
as for the haines i cannot comment as i have not been in one.
having not helped you much all i can say is the 625 is a top boat.

I just got the 500 explorer, top boat, you cant go wrong with a cruise craft, they have been around along time and as bj says. trailerable boat of the year, say no more.

Hi Daffy,

We had a 625 for 2 1/2 years and we were very happy with her a very stable and safe boat and great ride in the chop, plenty of room in the cubby and fishing space at the rear. The drive on drive off trailer is great, the walkaround makes getting on and off easy. She was fitted with a 175 ficht and went like the clappers, fitted a 4 blade renegade offshore s/s prop which improved performance allround. Last November we upgaded to a 685 with a twin 4 banger rig love this boat also.

You will find this boat to be a great allround performer we haven't a bad word to say about the 625.

Hey,

I might as well pipe in for the Haines Gang!

The 650 Classic is an awesome boat also, and is in good company with the Cruise Craft.

The deadrise and hull shape on the 650 is fantastic, the fitout and finish, and design ideas are second to none in Oz.

Ive also been in the new Cruiser, and its also an awesome boat. Excellent ride and fit-out.

Both are very nice boats that will do you proud.

Regards

Darren

Hi Daffy, I have the Haines 542F (i know it's a bit smaller) but this is a terrific boat. The ride offshore is great. I have no complaints. I dont think you will be dissapointed with either boat as they are both very reputable. As for the freeboard I find the bigger the better as it give you more to brace yourself on when fishing in a swell. But what is a good height for me might feel uncomfortable to you. Stand in both boats and see which feels more comfortable. When spending that much money make sure your happy.
