Gidday
Chasing any advice or recommendations.
Looking at upgrading my tinnie to a 4-4.5 metre model. I plan to still fish dams but also to do some fishing in the estuary / bay.
Currently have a Quinnie Explorer tinnie which is great for dams but not the briny.
any advice would be appreciated
Cheers

Have a look at the Sea Jay brand in the Magnum range.
They have a 4.1 and 4.3 metre that may suit you.

If it comes down to a choice between 4m and 4.5m for saltwater use, go the 4.5m. Generally an extra .5m ends up being a great deal more usable boat. And you'll still be able to handle it no worries by yourself if need be.

Sea Jay ...I'll second that .
I've got the 4.35 SP ...more then enough for any bay / river ...does the job offshore in good weather also
the SP with full flat floor , positive flotation , forward cast deck all the extras with a 40hp 2 stroke yammy on a trailor will set you back around 11 G . well woth the extra money if you want those extra comforts and storage
a little hint ...if you go a live bait tank in any tinny.. get a free flow live bait tank installed ...god damn miracle that thing ! would not buy a tinny without it .,..only cost an extra $300 and NO PUMPS or electrics involved !

I currently own a Quintrex TopEnder 450 and I wouldn't want anything else. I bream fish heavily and also regularily use it up to 15Nm offshore in the Perth area in the right conditions of course (Garden Island, 5 Fathom, Rotto etc). I am running one of the new Yamaha EFI 60hp 4strokes and the peformance and ecconomy is amazing. Price isn't real cheap but no matter what anyone says you get what you pay for. The fitout on my rig is outstanding and I have added a few custom bits myself. Mainly for storage and a couple of electrical add ons.

While you shopping around have a look at Stessco. The 4.2 is bigger and stronger then any thing else in the market place and you aren't paying for the brand name as you do with a few of the boats mentioned here and there new 4.45 looks an absolute beauty. I'm running teh old 4.45 on a 30 3pot Yammie and it has all the power you need. When I bought mine it was thousands cheaper then anything else in the market as a package.
