Tried to get ambitious and do a metallic green on the gunwales and back. Had to do it as basecot and two pack poly and spray gun.
What a @#$% of a job without the proper clean area. We set up a mini-clean room on 3 sides but it wasn't enough, couldn't do 4 as we would have no ventalation. Basecoat got a few bugs, a few bits of dust, pollen, fluff and whatever else. Eventually got it sorted. Basecoat coloured the imperfections green anyway. Clean of most and it looked pretty good after a touch up.
Well, the clear coat is a bugger. Every freaking bug, fluff etc just shows up. Arghhhh. It's clear so there is no where to hide them. More layers more bugs and fluff. Live and learn.
Still its a fishing boat and still looks pretty nice, the imperfections will be the least of the marks after a year or two. A fine sand and polish should get rid of a lot of imperfections. Just wish I'd begged, borrowed or stolen a sprayshop!
