G'day, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the 2005 150 EFI Merc (non optimax)...reliability, fuel economy in liters per hours under "noraml conditions for sea and load" on a 6mt platey cruising@ 22ish kts?

I have a 04 model on a 6mtr haines....you will be doing well to cruise at 22knots....more like 27/28knots. I do 58klm at 4100rpm...67klm at 4900 rpm and 83klm at 5600 rpm (flat out). Expect to use 30L per hr at cruise....this motor will hurt your wallet if you push it. In regards to reliability etc..can't really fault them...but what you save in purchase price you will fork out in fuel in about 3 years use ...using it once a fortnight.
cheers
Dave

Thanks Dave...close to what I thought, figured I'd check with people who use them, not just talk about or sell them...Rhys
