i have lowrance x47 sounder. i have basic knowledge but was wondering if anyone knew of any dvds that may be avaible on how to read

Hi Seahorse, there is also a dvd available by Rick Hukstep(does a lot of writing for many mags/papers) on sounders ,mainly displayed lowrance but all adaptable. Saw it at the Bris Boat Show $30 I think-well worth a look.

They sell a book on using your sounder in the tackle section at K-Mart, like the DVD its done with Lowrance units but can be adapted to anything.
