I have been having a lot of trouble finding clear water at the transom to run my tranducer in my 455 cc polycraft (not surprising with all those ripples in the hull ::)

Has anyone found a position that will give reasonable performance at speed?

Current setup is a lowrance skimmer transducer (x 85 unit) mounted at the transom to the right of centre under the stainless motor plate. I was thinking of maybe trying to mount it on the back of the starboard sponson but thought that may be worse due to aeration.

Suggestions from those with experience with this problem would be appreciated.

Otherwise I guess I will just have to mount it as deep as possible and cop the extra drag/spray?

thanks

I have mine, Matrix 55, mounted to the right hand side of the Transom Plate and have no problems at all with readings up to WOT (28 knotts)

Mine is mounted to the right of the motor transom plate. It is flufh with the hull and seems to work fine.
