How do I know the VRO is about to bugger up -- I have a 140 hp 1989 Jono with the VRO still connected. Are there any warning signs of impending major oil shortages? I would like to catch this before it stops if possible.

when mine went on 175 ocean pro it over oiled like crazy smoked like hell i think it was only the real early modles that stoped pumping when they failed hoga

I got Jhonson VRO when i bought the boat (2nd hand) i got it dissconnect straight away and pre mix all the fuel my self at 50ml oil to 1Litre fuel for 90hp boat now over 18 months had no problems yet
As spaniard_king said 's you are playing russion roulet by leaving it on

make sure you mix 50/1 i think redspeckle had a misprint there

My mate disconnected his,
never has his boat run so good.
PM higher ground for more info but he pre mixes now same as red speckle and all is good.
