Can anybody recommend a good boat motor mechanic. I know there must be some great work from home operators out there, but buggered if I know where to start. Especially someone who can bring an older motor back to life!

Mate,

Jon at Neptune Marine is really sharp, kept my 50 merc burbling nicely...I've referred a couple of mates to him and they are stoked too...he did a major overhaul on a mates older VRO 70 recently and my mate is really happy with the job and the price. He does a really thorough job and has picked up on maintenence stuff that have been overlooked by others. And his charge won't rip ya head or anything else off! Neptune Marine are in Carslyle St Slacks Creek (Sth side of Brisvegus)...if you're in the neighborhood it might be worth checking him out

All i can say is "DONT GO TO LEISURE MARINE" it cost me $135 to get my first repair on my 6 HP. All thay did was change oil, grease parts and spray it with somthing (forgot the word). All that cost me about 20 bucks, 3 bucks in GST and $112 in working hours. It would have taken them 20 mins to do it. >:( >:( >:( >:(
