Pic show port halfway up leg ,which was covered by rubber plug
Bolt joins gearshift rod
This bolt has to be released to allow gearcase to drop down

This is common on most brands of smaller OB's. Word of advice, keep the bolt/thread lubricated and after re-installing the L/U use a thread protector paste. This bolt will snap off real easliy when corroded.

Scrape out corrosion and blow out dust with compressed air

apply high temp. gasket sealer
