can someone tell me how to drain the gearbox and motor oil from 60 hp 4st yamaha.

Draining is the easy part ;)


Check your owners manual and it should tell you where the two plugs are. Drain from the bottom with the top level plug removed. Also fill from the bottom until it runs out of the top level. Make sure you use the correct grade/type of oil as per your owners' manual.

Easy ;)

The drain for the engine on the 60 Yammie 4 is on the center of the leg looking from the back of the boat, just below the level of the engine block. It is hard to describe but it is listed in the owners manual, that is how I found it.

It is in a little hole and you need a 13mm socket from memory.
Don't go to hard when tensioning back up or you could strip the thread.

i would like to thank sportfish 5 and reel hard or helping with my oil problem.i dont have an owners manual because i bought it at an auction and it didnt come with any. thanks again.i only registered this morning and have had two replies,i was very surprised,this is a great site ;D
