Nice looking boat col! Looks like the ultimate long range bottom donging platform. What size fuel tank is in the beast, and how much fuel does the engine chew at cruise?

CJ,
It's going up north as you probably guessed. Mainly fishing out of Kurrimine Beach.
It carries 350 ltrs and at cruising uses around 22 ltrs/hr. Will check the fuel flow exactly tommorrow before it goes.
The guy's with the 200's are getting down around 18 ltrs/hr from the feed back I've had.

Hey Daniel how's it going?...... Keep saving mate ;)

Thanks Steven It has come up nice.

Cheers Col

Sea Bug,
These figures are feedback from owners. They are running premium fuel which I also believe gives better consumption.
It is in general use offshore, so some cruising and sounding. They are economical because they are cruising at less then 4,000rpms.
I can put you in contact with the owners if you PM me.

No_luck I'm sure we can make it very smick ;)

Great work there Col, i love these posts of your latest creations. They have really come a long way in the last few years. Keep up the good work. Like bugman says, there are a lot of ppl on this forum that may one day be in the right position to upgrade to one of those beauties.

Hey Col - What sort of fuel consumption (l/hr @ 4-5000 rpm) you getting out of the 140 on Jay Jar Moo now ?

Cheers

Greg

Fisher_Boats

Greg,
Around 18-20 ltrs/hr
What are you getting and what size prop are you running?

Cheers Col

PS The 175's are wicked :o :o

Sportfish_5

Col

I estimate about 13-15l/hr at 4800 for just under 27 knots. Just running the standard 3 blade 14 x 19 alloy prop at this stage. Will probably look at a 4 blade solas same diameter/pitch later as I would love to get the rpm down a little for cruising at that speed. Same with trolling speeds.

They certainly are a beautiful engine when they are humming along at around 4000 to 5000 rpm. I hear those Yammie guys are a little worried about those new 150/175s too

Cheers

Greg,
# Get softie :) (Steve from solas) to send one down to try.. be interesting. You could always get him to cup the prop you have as well.
Never had a lot of luck with the four blades in the past, but haven't tried one on the Suzies.
Don't forget they are a fairly high revving engine. Mate the figures you got there are pretty bloody good!!
From what I've just experienced.........I'd be worried too ;D ;D

What are you going to build next - now that JayJarMoo has been sold. ;D
Will you and the boys will be looking for a ride out wide, or will the light in the shed be on late at night for the next few weeks while another "Creation" is brought to life???

Fisher_Boats
11-10-2005, 08:58 AM
Hey Fishbone and Woopi,
Haven't finished drawing up the new one yet ;)
I can tell you it's having bunks for the overnighters, big thick soft ones (reminds me of someone) ;D
Got a few new ideas I'm working on with the cabin.
We'll have to come for a run outside with you. Got Tim's 450 tiller to keep us going in the meantime.
Woopi the price is coming.
Talk to you soon.

Make sure you vent the cabin - it gets a little close in there at times - still not sure who is responsible....

Will this one have the Bait Station as well?

Fisher_Boats
11-10-2005, 11:12 AM
Fishbone,
One of the things I'm working on is good ventilation ;) You been talking to Gibbo?
Can't tell you too much about the work station yet :-X

still not sure who is responsible....
Don't understumble

Thunderbird,
My knowledge of power to weight ratios may be a little naive, but aren't twin 250's on a 5.8m boat abit of overkill??? You could never really use that much power could you????

Love the look of your boats Col. It looks like they're beautifully finished, and I'm really impressed by the fact that they have a water ballast keel. I thought Barcrusher was the only manufacturer who used that. I thought my next boat would probably be a Barcrusher, but who knows, I might be able to talk the misses into looking at Fisher boats the next time. Are the prices comparable? It would be good to support a local product.
