Hi all,

Just a catch up with Hi-Yo. Shes a 4.5m Blue Fin Predator side consol with a 50 Etec on the back. Well over the week end she clocked up 1000 n/m. It has taken me 15 months and 130 hours to do. In that time I have put in just under 580 ltrs of fuel. It averages about 1.4 ltrs / nm.

I would have to say that I am more than happy with the combo. All the above traveling has been off shore and no creek / river work. She still has not been to the pin or droped in any fresh. In that time I have fished from Stanage Bay in the north to South West rocks / Hat Head in the south. I ended up and been 20 n/m off shore and in seas up to 3 metres. Shes a safe little boat but can be a bit wet in a side chop just like any open boat (many times I have said that I would swap my kingdom for a windscreen) and I have a tendency to go out in most conditions.

I do neally 100% of my fishing alone and have no troubles handeling the boat. Would I change any thing... of course. I would like trim tabs and next time I would get a boat with a self draining deck. Due to the conditions that I go fishing in. Mind you I do have a big arse bilge pump the self drain deck thing would be a bit more handy when you take a little bit off water over the front in no so friendly conditions.

All in all once again am happy especially when it comes to filling her up after a day on the water. It really is affordable boating. The Etec has given me no trouble, no I dont run the expensive oil as I get TCW3 for nothing. It starts instantly and has no smoke or fumes. Would recomend both engine and boat.

Any way that all

Cheers Steven
