The son picked up a Johnson Model TH2TK electric motor on the weekend. It has a 1mtr sharft and apart from the modle number no other markings. Anyone know anything about them? It works and looks like new, cost $150.

They are good old motors. Much stronger feel about them compared to Minn Kotas etc. which feel very plasticy by comparison. Not sure how good the maximiser thing is with the Minn Kotas but the Johnson will still take a while to run down a battery.

Well for $150 the boy looks to have done well for himself Smithy! I was thinking about geting a 90 AMP battery for it what do you think? We gave it a run last night with an old car battery and on the number 3 setting it run for about an hour. Its the first time we have ever used an electric and it was great to be trolling without all the noise, even got a few flathead.
