GDay all,

Thought a plug was worthy here after the good service I had on a recent bit of work to Bogey.

Lost steering coming home from Tangas last Thursday - initially thought I had a air bubble in the hydrolics so bled the system only to find the real problem was at the steering wheel end which only worked when I applied downward pressure to the wheel.

Anyway got recommended to Darren Horton at Marine Steering Specialists Capalaba. He diagnosed the problem over the phone - missing the key to hold the wheel and steering column together. Dropped in and he rummaged through some older parts he had and found what I was after. He even welded up my steering wheel for me which was coming apart.

He then went on to charge me bugger all.

Always great to see a bit of good old fashioned service, seems to be a rare thing nowadays with too much focus on making a fast buck!

And good on you for letting us know, it's too easy to have a whinge when something goes wrong, but just as important to spread good news - god knows we can all use plenty of that! :D
