Hi everone,
Im looking at getting a new boat either a 540f(yam115hp) or a 550c(yam130hp)
Can anyone tell me what they think of both these boats?
Thanks
Auto
Hi Auto,
I have the 542F 2000 model. Had quite a few offshore trips out in it and am very happy with its performance. It handles the slop pretty good. What sort of money you looking at paying. We might be able to do a deal.

Dave
Can you tell me the differance between the 540f and 542f
Auto,
It has a 115 Johnson Ocean Pro with 150 hrs, was serviced at 100, just fitted a 200l underfloor fuel tank, Lowrance X65 sounder, Full storm covers with front and side clears, Bait board, Lowrance IFinder hand held G.P.S, Bilge Pump, All safety gear for offshore. I am at Heritage Park near Browns Plains. Where abouts are you?
Dave
The difference between the 540 & 542 is mainy the windscreen (540 one piece - 542 2 piece) and a walk around deck on the 542.
Check out www.haines-marine.com.au look at boat ranges and it shows difference between the 2.

Dave
Which stae are you in?
Im in Victoria
How much are you after?
Bummer I am in QLD Brisbane southside.
Have a good look at both boats, the 542F is like it is more streamlined. As I say I am happy with mine just looking at going to a bigger boat in partnership with my usual deckie. They are a very smooth handling boat. and easily handled one up if need be. I take my 2 kids out in the bay for days out and dont have to many troubles getting on and off the trailer.

For the same money you could hunt around and pick up a second hand Kevlacat 5.2. The 540s are a good boat but the KCat has the edge in ride and heaps more room ;)
Cheers
