Geelong fishing writer Ron Kitchen reminded readers of "The Echo:" this week that the new Life Jacket regulations start on 1-12-2005

He recommended that boaters comply with the new rules as he expected that the authorities would police the new rules hard to get the message across.

I was going to do a post on this earlier this week when I read in the paper about these new PFD (Pesonal Flotation devices, Life Jackets) regulations but could only find this link to the recommendations and not the actual final result.
http://www.marinesafety.vic.gov.au/doi/doielect.nsf/2a6bd98dee287482ca256915001cff0c/ed3ba3b5d42a2456ca2570840002b1e2/$FILE/Media%20Release%20Batchelor%20Flotation%20Devices% 20RIS.pdf

I think the regulation is that PFDs must be worn at all times by the occupants of power boats up 4.8 mtrs in length while under way.

Bloody hell our school teacher/Premier Bracks will introduce caning again the way he is running Victoria.

Move to Qld mate - our bloke Pete ;D (big grin - he loves getting his photo taken) hastn't a clue about anything. If Pete tried to bring in something simmilar up here he would stuff it up big time, instead of reflective tape we would have photos of grinning Pete on our life jackets. I hear that you can jump the queue at the Bundaberg hospital by flashing a photo of grinning Pete. Mojo

Perhaps so, but you'd have to be mad to want to jump the queue at Bundy ;)
