Repowering which moto??????

Some intelligent comments please,
I am thinking of repowering my Signature 650F, at present I have a 94 model 225 Mariner carby 2 stroke and would like to upgrade. I fish mostly offshore from Gladstone with a bit of inshore family fun type stuff. I don't tow tubes as no one is game to get on one behind the big 225 [sooks] A lot of my trips are over 120 nautical miles and most of the time I cruise on around 24 knots. I would like to get a 300 nautical mile range from my 230 litre tank.
Which way should I go;
2 stroke EFI
2stroke HPDI, optimax, Etech etc
4 stroke

Cross out 2 stroke efi for starters, the verado,s are a big dissapointment in fuel burn as well, a mate of mine has twin 225's on his cat and is very dissapointed in the fuel consumption.
To my way of thinking you couldnt go past one of the big three manufactures of 225 4 strokes yammy's ,suzuki or honda.
As for the high tech 2 strokes i could really make some arguements over them, i wouldnt touch one, just my opinion...foxy
