150 hp optimax ?

hi guys

I recently bought a haines siganture with a 150 merc optimax , and when putting it on the weekend , on puuting the throttle down this continuous alrm sounded. when i slowed back it went off. Any thought what this may be?

what did your dealer tell you the alarm was?
I have a 135 optimax and have not had any alarms go off

the alarm comes from the smart guages.

i think.

they said i had to hook it up to the computer to find out,.

But i think it is oil or engine overspeed.

While the smart guages are going off, the display should tell you what type of alarm it is.

my motor is reving out to 5400rpm no alarm

is it still under warranty?
I would be getting it on the computer before using it again just to prevent any damage
The alarms are there for a reason and when I am 3 miles ofshore i want to get back

i,ve also got smart craft guages on a 115 opti i,ve had alarms go off twicw ,, low oil ,,, and eng temp had a sticky themostat the smart craft guages are excelent and should tell you why it,s going off theres also a lot of info on the alarms in the user manual for the guages if you have one ... failing that get it checked out mate
