I am buying a Quintrex Hornet Trophy 435 Side Console with a Mercury 40HP three cyl two stroke. #I was considering putting a aux bracket on for my 5hp Tohatsu (20kg) just wondered if it would be to much weight on the transom. #Is any one running such a rig or have any information as a guide?

Throw a Electric motor up front & if your Mercury fails you can always get home hopefully with it..

I have a a 4.45 hornet and have a 6 hp suzy as an auxillary which works fine. Its used a lot, particularly for trolling. Its no too heavy.

If you go a 24 vollt 74lb (2 x 100amp) you will run it for 3 hours at 5-6 kmph .... otherwise I cant imagine why you would bother with an auxilary in this style of boat:-/ ... nagg
