Hi
I need to find my serial numbers for insurance purposes. I have two 40 HP Mariners.

Would they be somewhere under the cowl, or more likley would they be on the outside (down the length of the engine - punched ona plate ?

i have seen a plate but i just can't believe it would be so simple, I would have thought the numbers would have been "punched" into a block / the like.

Any Advice

It would be on a plate on the outside of the motor somewhere either just below where the cowl sits or down the leg..
My Tohatsu has a sticker for the model and serial numbers. Aparantly boaties are more honest :-/
