Finally found my lad a 445f Haines Hunter .
Looks pretty good for its age.Motor 1980 #55 hp Evinrude - sounder - 2 way radio - all safety gear- two tanks of fuel- trailer -elec winch.
$7500.00 .Motor is old but it is the hull he has always wanted.

Sounds allright. Haven't seen one under $8,000 before - that is why I ended up with my Blackfin when I did - it was $7,000 back then.

If it was any other boat... i'd say its over priced for that age of engine.

But considering how rare and sought after they are ...... i guess u got no choice.

I could not find any under the $10000.00 mark admittably they had newer motors but also they had the hulls painted this one is original.
Will get the young bloke to post some pics as i am useless at that.
Thanks

Troy,

I had a oldish 50hp Rude a few years back on a little Cruise Craft Rouge, was great little motor that gave no trouble. Mine was about '85 model from memory. I wouldn't say it was under powered, but the Rouges performed better with 70hp's on em.

Cheers,

Feb/March 2004 Trailer Boat Mag had this one.

Haines 445 Centre Console 1985. 220hrs on Mariner 75hp. Sounder GPS, 27meg, VHF, game poles, 90L fuel tank, spray dogers, Safety gear, burley bucket, bait board, brand new trailer. $10500 QLD Ph 07 5502 xxxx

In the photo the engine stickers look like a 1994 to 2000 model. Its that silver cowling with the vent grid at the rear. I cant tell what colour the leg is (i know that black legs with silver cowls are 1997 onwards?)

I think you would be very excited if you saw this one for sale again !!!!!!
You seem pretty happy with the hull you found .....engines are replaceable if need be.

Fishingrod how do you think the insurance would go with a 90hp.

I reckon it would be a problem if it is over the manufactures suggested max. It may be possible to find an insurer that will do it provided it is noted on the policy.

I would have thought a modern day 60-70hp would be heaps for that size boat.
