Thanks no-luck and dave, seat boxes got to be built to suit refrigeration unit which is still being refined, don't mind standing for a bit.
Mark we had a short run in it on friday in the pouring rain unreal power if you weren't hanging on you would have been throw'n out the back of the boat.
1 hope to post detailed info on fuel economy and performance over the next few months.

cheers mickey.

Mickey,

Hope to see good fishing reports. Also if you catch too many fish you can always drop them into the workshop as Col doesn't let us much ;) ;D.

That is one smick setup, where will you be fishing out of?

mickey7
24-01-2006, 06:38 AM
Thanks guy's,

Gav i'll be fishing out of Mooloolaba and bribie but also want to fish break sea spit and various islands off the barrier reef, intend to explore and fish many places hence the big fuel tank etc and with the inflatable on the roof, the refrigeration and fresh water should be able to get to places you couldn't normaly in a trailer boat.

cheers mickey.

Congrats Mickey
Had a good look at Col's the other day and was very impressed mate.
Love the paint job and the Pearl white on the cabin was something different which was great. Another fantastic Fisher creation to hit the water. 8-)
"Don't be a wisher buy a Fisher" seems to be the trend. ;) :) 8-)

Mickey,
Love your boat mate, I know how you feel at this moment, I was in the same position back in May last year when I picked up my Boat " Woopi Girl " built by Col and still over the moon with the second half, Col's mate Tim from Glind hot showers installed a hot shower on my boat, Mate when you are out with the girl on a trip, a quick shower can do wonders.

Cheers Beers & Tight lines

Mickey,
# # boat is looking great, I would like to hear how you go with your fuel economy/cruise speed. There is a product I was looking at called heronrib, that I was looking at laying on the floor that looks pretty serviceable. Its is pretty pricey, if you want any more info on the product, I can point you in the right direction,

Cheers Troy.

Thank's for the compliments every one.
troy- is that the plastic tube mat you refer to or is it a different product.

Rhys-bloody hard finding a name that no one has on there boat, had thought about calling her NFH.

Mantaray-5mm hi tensile, although Col might need to chime in to confirm.

Birdy- don't mind the forarm building come in handy for pulling all the fish aboard.

Mantaray
25-01-2006, 08:46 PM
5mm sounds pretty much the norm? hi-tensile? I would doubt that? maybe hi tensile somewhere in the frame/stringers? something like 6061T6, hull? something like 5083H321 would be more the go for the hull plating?

mickey7
25-01-2006, 09:17 PM
Mantaray,
got the paper work out, to confirm-bootom plates 5mm 5083 h321 grade.

cheers mickey.

Nice boat there mickey ;D ;D ;)
Good paint job mate ;)
The structure supporting the bottom is as important as the actual plate thickness.
If it's 8mm and not supported correctly you would end up having problems.

Cheers Col

SEA TRIAL.
Took vapour trail out for the first time last friday, conditions were ordinary between bribie and tangalooma with 15 knot's of south east making it messy.
I've done this trip previously in my other boat which was a production pressed cuddy cab,the conditions were similar with the end result being my ten year old girl (Tully) getting sea sick and never wanting to go fishing again and then further reinforcing her feelings by vomiting everywhere,we would all finish the day exhausted from the uncomfotable ride no difference even at slow speeds,in saying this the pressed boat is still a good boat in the right conditions, and friday's conditions were the perfect comparison.
After Tully's initial trepidation when she saw the choppy conditions she settled down for the ride to tangalooma, we were able to travel much faster than we had ever been able to before with a massive increase in comfort,no hard pounding, level riding with the motor trimed in and the Bennet tab's down and we were only doing 3000 RPM,slowly increasing to 3500 RPM and a short burst to 4000 RPM.the big Suzuki was quiet and very responsive having plenty of reserve power at hand. The boat handled the conditions beautifully,my little girl had a good day on the boat and for the first time enjoying a smoother ride with no sea sickness,we got back to the ramp in half the time it previously would and not buggered from hanging on.I am very pleased with my new Fisher Maxi and with the vast improvement in ride i look forward to enjoying some quality boating time with my family.

cheers mickey

p.s. got some aproximations on fuel usage i will post later.
