hi
Well I was about to buy my first tinny, 395 SeaSprite, but then i realised the whole towing capacity thing, apparently a pulsar can have 600kg without brakes and 1000kg with brakes (i think) am i completly up the creek? if you chuck the outboard on the back seat does that still count? im not sure if this is a dumb question i just have no idea about the weight of boats/trailers and outboards, and google doesnt seem to be helping me much.
Cheers

boat should be around 100-120kg
motor no more than 80kg
trailier around 150kg

plus gear, fuel etc 100kg at most
should be well under 600kg

this is only a guess I would check with a dealer

Tal you would be well under and legal.
If not a hell of a lot of boaties would be in trouble.

Krazyfisher's calculations wouldn't be far off, and depending on the motor probably even a bit high. I'd say your right, but it won't hurt to check with a dealer for your reference. If you're buying privately, it shouldn't be too hard to get the weights of the B/M/T individually. That way you can esimate what load you can carry *in* the boat as well.

Good luck,
Mike

you will be right mate
i have a 385 throphy with floors and even full of gear and the merc 25 on the back i can still pull it up my drive way by myself
if it was anything over 200kg i dout i would be able to budge it ;)

You could always find a business with a weigh bridge and get it weighed.

You will know for sure then
