Who on this site are confident to really trust there accuracy.
For example if you are 15 klms off shore and you have to pick up a channel before you reach the ramp how accurate are they when you are operating in tidal waters as if you miss the channel your high and dry until the next tide.

no, never totally trust the gps Troy. I trust mine to the extent that if I am 10-50k off shore I set my gps on the waypoint at the mouth of the river and head in, if at night or low vis, when within 500m I start looking for nav markers. With the channel up my home port river the channel at low water is only 10m wide in places and less than 1m deep (sometimes > than 1m) and if you didnt use visial with nav markers you would end up high and dry and no prop, so no relying on gps in this case
