Hi

There's a lot of posts on this site telling us about bad experiences, and that's OK, but I think that to balance the equation, some feedback about outlets that do good work would also be useful.

For me, I took my smokey old Evinrude 175 2 stroke to River City Marine, and guess what - no more smoke. That's right, they actually got the oil injection system working the way it should and while it is still a bit fumey (all 2 strokes are), there is almost no smoke, even at idle, and it doesn't seem to matter which oil I use.

These guys are Evinrude gods. ;)

Has anyone else got any good things to say.

Hmmmmmmmmmm................

A bit conspicuious, #the lack of replies here, #me thinks.

Thinking, thinking....

I liked the attitude of the bloke that served me at
Wondal rd marine the other week...

The older bloke at Whitworths was happy to let me browse
for an hour or so while I waited for her to conclude her
specialists appointment...

Alan at Downs Marine (Mayne) is THE god of all things Johnson/Mercury...

We live in hope..

When I last got my boat serviced i got the mechanic (TMC Outboards), to replace the wheel bearing and springs on the trailer.

Well I got a phone call later and he said that I might want to come out and have a look at the trialer. So off me and my partner went, and to our shock (well sort of) the undercarrige of the trailer was basicly a rusted crumble on the ground. :'( He didnt understand how I towed it there), I never new it was that bad as only a few months back I took it 4WDriving over at stradie without an issue - can only say good things about the tinkas.

Well by the time we got there he had allready rung around prices for a new trailer, and went through the trading post for me (and allready lined someone up so he could inspect the trailer on his own time for me).

As you could imagine I did not have $3000 sitting around, so I thought i was up that creek with out a paddle. Now Ive got a great serviced boat no trailer and my boat sitting right square in his service shed :o

So after a few :'( and he said dont worry about paying for my work he had done on the trailer (the cost of specially orded spring and the bearings) and he dropped anothe 50 bucks off what was allready a great price on the service and said to pay for that when you can as well (i said stuff that you did the work and paid him ;)). He then let me keep the boat at his place for free (it sat there for a month), so I could figure out what i could do.

Well after that i got a great deal on a new trailer............i got it direct from the great guys gold coast trailers and saved around a $1000.

When I finaly picked up the trailer to get my boat, i got to TMC at around 5pm he was closing up but instead of telling me to come back tommorow he spent the next hour and a bit putting my boat back on the trailer and seting the trailer up very sweetly for free........didnt even want $$$ or a beer for it ;)

So infact it is thankyou to two places Gold Coast trailers thankyou

BUT THE BIG THANKYOU goes to Trev at TMC without your expert help I dont know what the hell I would have done

Cheers

Dave
