Plate boats

I have heard of Plate boats that are manufactured in China for Australian Plate boat builders.
Unfortunately the source could/would not advise just who they were...only stating one in Qld and one in the NT. This was during a conversation when the source was complaining that HE couldnt match the price of these competitors and that he was considering having his boats built in China as well.
Does anyone know who these plate boat builders are...as it would be interesting to get a quote for one of these Chinese plateys. cheers baldy

GS Marine in Palmerston (Darwin) have built a plate boat factory in China I think for their Extreme model boats. Similar design to some of the Fisher boats. They are marketing through Haynes I believe. The boats available are standard type boats, any major modifications, they custom build the whole boat in Darwin. My boat was made in Darwin, see post on GS Marine Extreme.

GS engineers are on site in China and the boss Gary regularly travels over. I have seen the boats that have been built there and they are indistinguishable to the Darwin boats. I think they are set to sell a couple of thousand boats this year.

Go out buy a true australia plate boat thats made in australia there is plently of them out their and good ones too and keep australia jobs here not oversea's thanks
Remember buy cheap expected it not to last long buy expensive last life time ;)
