G'Day guys/gals,

Looking for recommendations please.

I have a hard top plate ally boat, but now find I don't have enough roof to escape the Queensland sun.

I am looking to have a removable roof canopy made to extend the current roofline about 6 feet, stainless or aluminium tube and fabric, zipper for access to rocket launcher.

Do you guys have places you would recommend for value (not cheap cost or quality, value)?

I am north of Brisbane at Murrumba Downs but will travel for the right place.

Thanks,

- Darren

Sorry, not much detail in that post.

I would like to have a fabric canopy supported by stainless or aluminium tube that I can fit on the existing roof.

A zipper to get access to the rocket launcher, and whatever else they recommend.

Any ideas on where to go and get it done?

I must admit, I am considering doing the tube work myself after reading the post on tube benders.

Mr Bean, I got Mobile Boat Canopies at Narangba to do a canopy on my signature a few weeks ago and was very happy. They aren't mobile any more, as the name still suggests, but are just up off Boundary Road on the western side of the highway, a mere hop skip and a jump from you. They weren't the cheapest and nor were they the most expensive but did a real good job anyway. J.

Thanks all for the input, looks like some good recommendations there and couple that are really close to me.

As mentioned earlier, I am going to have a look and see if it is worthwhile doing the tubular bit myself.

Either way I still need the fabric work done and I need a set of cushions made for in the cabin.

I appreciate the help.

Hi Darren,

I called in to see Ray Wessells at Sundown Marine yesterday on the way back from M'bar to talk with him about the exact same things...was very happy with his quote and will proceed with it when the biccies are in the bank.

Marty at Seaquip is excellent - specialises in this sort of stuff. 3245 3170 (Tingalpa)
Rob at Noble Engineering (Brendale) 3205 1844 (Noble Super Vee Boats)
Justin at Brisbane boat trim (Brendale) is also excellent, number as stated above.

I use these people exclusively for all my work.

They are quick, ultra reliable, and I have never yet had to question one bit of their workmanship.

Cheers

Pete.

ps. Tell them Pete from Valet Boat Services sent you, they might look after you even better.

Here are three pics of Marty and Justins Work.
(Justin didn't do 35 Caribbean, that is Steve from East Coast Marina, also excellent tradesman)
