I can't get hold of Lanoguard here in Lismore..People have said that Bunnings and Supercheap have it -- but they don't in Lismore. Their website and ramshead.com.au seem to have closed down. Local marine suppliers say they don't have stock and they haven't seen a traveller for the company in ages. Anybody got any ideas as to where I might get it?. Is there an equivalent product? I've heard on this site that Inox is a bit toothless. I need to rustproof a new boat trailer

thanks

Tony

Gidday Tony,
Did you try the Bolt Barn in Union street just up from the motor bike shop (near where Jasens used to be) or Hurfords
How's the new boat??

Tony,
I've seen Lano..(something) at Mitre 10 in Byron Bay. $55 for 5litres. Pretty cheap compared to $86 for 5ltr Ozspray at ballina marineland. (or was that 68 :-? :-/)

keep looking.
Cheers, Roo

Hey Finga :D

Mate, no - neither of them have it. I can get hold of Lanox - but I seem to remember that this isn't as highly regarded as the Lanoguard.. It looks like they are no lionger in business.

Anything else any good for this purpose?

Tony

Mate, I've used the lanolin grease.
Sticks like poop to a blanket. Might be OK for around bolts and pokey-outy things until you find the right stuff.
Also, have a yarn to the boys at Casino sandblasting. They had this stuff they sprayed on the Landrover Chassis and it's as hard as the hobs of 'ell and stops the rust dead. They guarantee it on trowler decks for 10 years.
good price to boot ;)

thanks fellas

I really want to get this done over the week-end so have gone for the Lanotec heavy duty. Seems to be effectively the same product as the lanoguard. I'll probably use the lighter Lanotec (general purpose) for spraying inside the cowl.
Lanoguard it seems is no more.
thanks again for your input.

Finga - the boat seems fine - battery not where I want it and the nav lights seem to have come from some $2 store. And it looks a bit silly without a motor yet. But generally very happy, particularly with the service and price from Martin Marine - Richard Martin is very good value indeed.

Next time you are down, give me a bell and we'll go for a fish in it

cheers

Tony
