Am I correct that for a late model Mercury 15hp I use Unleaded fuel with a 1:50 oil/fuel mix? Thanks guys Sean :)

yeh
example: 15 litres of unleaded equals 150ml of oil......25 litres - 250 ml............i think thats 1:100...thats what i always used on my old two stroke and it worked a dream anyhow

If its the oil recommended by your engine manufacturer, run it at manufacturers spec (which is generally 50:1). If its 2 stroke from elsewhere, run it at 25:1. You generally find that is the requirement in the small print of your waranty. If you foul plugs or get poor performance, you will need to either lean out the oil ratio, or change oils. Whatever you do, make sure it does not invalidate your waranty.

On the side od the motor leg there should be a complince type plate .... write down ALL numbers and letters and a good dealer should be able to tell you the year. My old Johno 9.9 has no markings except for the comp. plate and I was told it was a '88 model. once you have the year model you will be able to find out the right oil ratio. mine has a sticker saying 100:1 but I still run 50:1
hope this helps

Hey, i would think 50:1 for you would be what you should be running. Also, use a good quality oil from an outboard manufacturer, like Quicksilver Premium Plus. Joey.
