Hi,
Second time i came across oil injected motor being taken apart after dropping a conrod. Did the motor run out of oil? no one checking the dipstick? I wander if its more then that, has anyone had any problems with theirs?

ahoj,

I think you need to be a little more specific, no one drops rods anymore

Maybe you melted a piston then the rod fell out :-/

No lube it can do funny things

i took a mates boat out on sunday before last 60hp mariner 93 model has not had a lot of use of late but i got it to run ok finally went to donnybrook fished there for a few hours no probs heading back to the ramp at 3/4 throttle i lost all power though i had run over a rope maybe checked nope nothing there turned the key motor fired up set off again got 300mt then no power no alarms or anything thought this is strange turned the keymotor went again went slowly back to the ramp no problem i get hope look at the cowling and have got oil running everywhere had a quick look could see no wrong from my angle took the boat and motor to a mate that is a marine engineer and here looked at the oil line from the holding tank to the fuel disolved in his hand we then took the plugs out and opened up the carbie to drain and run through a heavy oil fuel mix a bit of knock when we started the motor now have a fellow looking at the conrods ect tomoorow so can easy happen to any body as you do not know if the oil is mixing and the motor will still run on fuel until it gets to hot and starts to stick and that whena lot of the damage is done

I removed the oil injection on my 150 hp ariner, can't beat pre mix, if it runs there's oil in the fuel.
