Robers,
I've got a 2000 model 50hp on the back of my savage safari 4.5m ( pictures in the 4 sale sect). Never had any problems with it ecept for having to replace a small spring in the trim motor. It uses stuff all fuel and is very cheap to service. It will never be as smooth at start up as a four stroke or a three cyl however once the engine is warmed up I cannot notice any difference between it and engines with an extra cyl. I have towed the kids and 120 kg dads behind the boat no problem at all. Hope this helps

Depends on your interpretation of "Stuff all fuel" but #2 strokes are thirsty mothers. Around 2.4k per litre or 6 mpg.. That's more than a small block V8 in a car flat out. :-[ :-[
But they are indeed simple, reliable #and powerful. You can't really go wrong with an Amercan made Outboard. Just buy one before they are made by Suc Mi Kok industries somewhere in Chiney ;D ;D
