I am looking at a Horizon Seabreeze 5.5 meter bowrider. It looks okay in pics, but does anybody have any first hand experience in how these boats perform?

My brother-in-law had a 3.7m v punt and the build quality is absolutely terrible. I've noticed some of the yards to be similar.

He has general poor welds and the ribs don't fit correctly to the bottom. In one spot it has blown through and they have re-welded the spot on the bottom. The front deck is also very distorted. Also the bungs are not close to the bottom so excess water ponds in the boat.

Have a good look around as there are heaps of boats to choose from.

i actually called into a boat yard today and looked at the 5m bowrider. looked cheap. sides were only tacked in sections about foot apart with about a foot in between with nothing. inside looked just as cheap. wouldnt make any difference how cheap they were in $.
iam looking for 5.25m bow rider as u can guess.

cheers

A good friend recently bought a 5.4m(?) Horizon bow rider new ... and although considerably cheaper than the Qun Freedom Sports he was comparing it to, the Horizon is CHEAP in all respects.

Paid about $27K for the 5.4m and a 115hp Merc (and a few more grand for fit out and accessories), but the build quality is very very ordinary, and is worth mentioning that the trailer it came on needed $600 spent on it to bring it up to a reasonable spec!

I would spend more time looking at other alternatives.

I can post up some pics should you want to see?

G'day
To my knowledge horizon and savage are both independant of eachother. Anyways I have a 3.7 horizon and have had my fair share of cracked welds. Have had bulkheads welded in under the full floor and this has strengthened it up. In saying that it's been an awesome little boat. I do take it to moreton from manly and everywhere in between. I have never copped a wave over the sides and in general it does me well. I think the boat is mid 90's.
