All,
Since buying our boat in November 2005 we have done 30 hours in 4 months. This equates to 90 hours a year.
Looking around you see many boats being sold with only 100 hours 2-3 years old. How many hours are Ausfishers doing ? :D

It all depends on what you do, travel and anchor, travel and troll. In one boat that I owned I put 45 hours on the hour meter in just under 3 years.
But I would hate to think how many I put on the 55ft/lb minnkota................wow 600hrs??? at a guess
At the moment with a change of boats and fishing styles I am averaging around 90 hrs a year.
Cheers
Steven
mmm 82hours divided x 5 years = 16.4 hours a year.... :-/ :-/ :-/
don't get out a lot :'( & when i do i mainly drift, sometimes for hours.. also i like to get out early & come home early. :)
to quote 'system of a downs' chic 'n' stu "therapy, therapy, fishing gives me therapy" or something like that 8-)

So far from mid December about 55 hours
So at 55h / 12 weeks X 52 weeks = 238.3h p/y
shit that means at 238.3h @ 11.5 liters per hour @ $1.10 p/l = $3014.49

Somewhere I recall seeing in the stats from Maritime Safety Queensland reading that a Boaties who does 100 hours a year is considered to be a "standard operator"
At 50 a year you have to up yer game!
At 150 you are a heavy user of the boat.
I have always kept a running log since I had my first bondwood ski boat at 18 and have logged just on 5,000 hours in 45 years so that average is about, um, what? 110 per year and that kinda lines up with the above figures.
Some bad years you only get 50 then hammer it the next year to 150, still seems to run out at the 100 per year!

Hell, where does that put me at my current usage............ empty pockets.
I'm sure i might slow down, maybe.
40 hours in a year & 1/2, boat looks great in the shed

Steve I have owned a boat for 9 years. It is kept at a beach house which we use often but have only done 240hrs to date. I treat the boat like a swimming pool in that all this asset sitting there for a lot of the time without use but it's a lifestyle and I wouldn't be without it.

Just takes one good trip a year to make you realise why you have a boat. Were going strong since buying the boat, but I wonder in a years time what will happen ?

Got my new boat last October. So far 75 hours on the meter, so I'm heading for at least the 150 hpy mark. You can put the hours on real quick if you spend a lot of time trolling
