Hey just wondering what would guzzle more fuel out of two late eighties/early nineties 2 stroke engines: 1 being a 50hp being used a lot at 4500 - 5000 rpm, and one being a 70hp being used a lot at 3500 - 4000 rpm. Any ideas?
Thanks.

make makes a diff etc a johno 3cyn is real good 3 carbies but a merc force has 1 carb uses 25% more fuel as to the diff between 50 or 70 as you stated ive always understood it to be the same

G'day
I have no idea on the figures but i'd prefer the 70. I'd rather run my bits at 60% stress then something smaller at close to 100%.

I owned a Cruise Craft Rouge 141/2 ft had a 55hp Evinrude on it when I got it. Started Water skiing had to run it flat out all the time and eventually blew it up. I repowered with a 90hp E/rude and had better fuel economy at half throttle than with the 55 flat out.
