What does it mean when your on the plane and the motor goes berr...berrr.....berrr and then stops, wont turn over, then when it starts again sounds like a tractor, not good , I guess I am about to find out if warranty is as good as the paper it is written on.

That happened to one of my motors at Easter. Turned out a chunk of one of the pistons had broken off and the piston proceeded to beat the crap out of itself.

Mine are 16 years old though, have had a pretty good run.

probable either
1 sucking air and run lean (buggered piston, rings and cyc?)
2 no oil, crank, bigend, gudgeon bearing and posible all of above
sounds like $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Remove plugs and earth out plug leads, hold finger over plug hole and do a rough compression check, results may give a better indication of problem
cheers

Same thing happened to me. It sounds like you have no compression in a cylinder, so serious problems.

My problem was a chip in the block, so compression leaked out. With you, it could also be the piston or rings. The local dealers wouldnt touch it, and told me to take it to the tip? I was able to find a retired outboard mechanic who fixed it for $400.

Good luck. If you have warranty, you should be alright.
