04 15hp Mercury prop advice

Motor went funny the other night, when we got into it the prop wouldnt spin properly like the bushes were gone and the shaft was spinnin but not the prop. These morors dont have split pins either. Put it n reverse for a while then it was fine . Any ideas

Probably the rubber bush inside the prop.
Weirdly enough if you do go into reverse it often reseats the bush (for a while) but usually high RPM and going nowhere in forward gear confirms the bush stuffed!
I once bought a boat home in reverse with a stuffed bush!
The moment I went in forwards it let go - really great day that was! :-[ :-[ :-[
