Hey Guys

Just wanting some advice, are there any pre-fabricated live bait tanks to fit the rear corners of boats? I have a mate with a 5.25 bluefin and wanting to put a live bait tank in the rear corner, are there kits available?

Also does anyone know of someone who can cut the required holes and install onsight? or someone you recommend taking it to?

Cheers
Az

Boat is located down the coast, paradise point

All I can is do your homework before you do install one. Make sure it is the right size for what you need. So many thing to consider....

Most if not all boat shops have what you need to build a live bait tank, but be prepared not to get out of it cheap :-/

I am sure there are plenty of good do-it-yourself bait tanks, on old posts that can recommend something just right for you.

No matter the cost they are a must have, good to have more options.

Hi Az,

I'm just about to make one as well. Found some great tips and advice on http://www.gcfishing.com/livewell.htm
Heath, who runs this site has a ton of experience and I'm sure he could help you out with further advice if necessary?

I can let you know where to buy the drum if required. PM me.

get a specially welded live bait tank out of allow. i'm getting a welder to do one for myself to attached to my trailcraft freestyle 4.85 at the left hand corner. ally beats the plastic stuff and you only need a basic bilge pump to get it running,

ey pete, wasn't sure if this was your area mate but I did have you in mind, PM sent

Timddo - are you painting the alloy? Can you get rounded edges to stop fishing getting caught in the corners?

I'm getting it powercoated and the edges will be smooth. It will be bolted to the back just above the transome deck. Alloy is like metal, get be bent to what you like. It cost about the same as buying some of those plastic ones.
