I am looking at getting a 200hp Yamaha 4 stroke to go on a new Cruise Craft 625 Explorer. I have not been able to find too much reported about them, particularly regarding fuel consumption and possible problems.
I would appreciate any feedback anyone has about this motor, good or bad, particularly from anyone who has spent some time around them.

Jason

Hi Jason,
I have been looking after a 2003 F200 4 stroke yammy. The guys that use it are serious Marlin fisherman and can troll 20 hours a weekend. They upgraded from a 200 carb yammy and were astounded at the saving. They talked about a %50 saving.
I have only had to do normal service work, apart from having to drain the water from the fuel system when they got a gut full of water from an "On the water fuel supplier" ::)
cheers

G,day Jason.
I also have a 2003 F200hp Yamy 4 banger, I can tell you Garry is right on the money. I have it on the back of a Yalta 615 Odessa and an average trip for us is approx 85mile return with a bit of trolling and a few shifts, I use around 90 litres per trip. This is my third yamy 4 stroke and I am just as happy with this one as I was with the previous 2. IMO the yamy would be a great match for a Cruise Craft 625 Explorer.
Cheers Ron
