:oGreetings gods of fishing and related wisdom :o

I have a 1998/99 90hp Johnson and when i have put a multimeter on the batteries with the motor running a bit above idle the volts do not change.

and the Tacho does not work

However when i turn the batteries off the motor will continue to run quite happily.

Does this mean the regulator or rectifier is Kaput are they easy to change with a basic knowledge (the wife tells me I am very basic ;D) or is it a million dollar service fee for the boat shop.

Thanks

I think the rectifier is a gonner.
Strange duel battery setups seem to do that to em.
