Ribbit.

My Johnson 115 2 stroke was only pulling 5100 rpm with an alloy 17. I have since got a stainless prop but have not had a chance to test flat out revs. Feels like it will rev harder though. I reckon it also used less fuel on the last trip to the Banks.

What motor did it replace?

Regards

John

John, I replaced a 115 johno with this. Great motor the johno. I was spinning a 19" pitch and would rev to 5600-5700. With a 17" it would spin to over 6000.

Gbanger it is fitted to a 5.25 stacer bowrider. Good setup now, custom snapper racks and big f/glass bait board with another 4 rod holder rack across it. 14 rods on rap round holders in total now. Good for snapper and gummy fishing in melb.

initial figures
19" s/s prop motor up a peg
3knt .9ltr/hr
5knt 1.5ltr/hr
28knts 19ltr/hr @4000rpm
32knts 24ltr/hr @4200
40knts @ 5600rpm WOT.

have done 2.4hrs running at all diff speeds trying it out and used 24ltrs fuel
Very quiet, no fumes, no smoke and easy to talk at 4000rpm.

Ribbit,

My motor is a 2003 model Johnson 115. Great motor but thirsty. If i had a spare 10 Grand I would do the same.

Hope you enjoy your new motor.

Hi Ribbit,

looks good mate, was your johno a 4 stroke? and what have the performance gains been?

Cheers

Billfin, it was a 2stroke.So far no more top end but only done 3.5hrs and still playing with height/prop to get it perfect. But noce to hit key and starts hot or cold instantly.

John r I got 6500 for my 2000 model johno with about 140 hrs on it so about 7500 change over fitted.

Looks nice, I'm stil a little wary of ETEC but only because it's newish technology.

I truely hope they hold up well as competition at another level only forces everyone to lift the game. The 115 looks real nice and compact, just like the 90's do.

Hope all performs perfectly, keep up suppling the info.

Cheers Mark

Ribbit,
How good does that look??? I'm still waiting for mine. Been waiting since March. Reakons it will be here next week. Got no motor at all at the moment. Very anxious. What boat have you got it on. Whats your top speed. I've got a 5.25 stacer c/c. It should get up and boogie. You mentioned the guages. Did it come standard with the I-Command guages or just Commander? :)

Mlap: I believe they are commander only. Speedo, trim, volt and tacho. Tacho gives fuel flow, fuel level, fuel used;engine hours all on digital readout bukit into tacho. awesome gauge.
Mine is a 5.25 stacer bowrider. Still getting props right but with only 4 hours on it 40knots topend, I have already ststed fuel usage in start of posts which may interest you.
Only 4 x 115 etecs landed in Australia last week and I got one....
