THE BOAT IAM LOOKING AT HAS A 75ELPT OIL INJECTED . IS THIS A GOOD MODEL? I HAVE TRIED TO LOOK IT UP ON THE MERC SITE BUT CANNOT FIND A WRITE UP. HAVE ALSO LOOKED IN ENGINE REVIWS AND CANT FIND IT. I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THIS MODEL IS OK CAUSE I THOUGHT THERE MAY BE DIFFERNT MODELS IN THE 75HP 2 STROKE. MAYBE SOMEONE HAS A SITE I CAN GET SOME REVIEWS ON IT.

What year is she mate? One thing to watch for on the older ones is the old black stators packing in. It may have already had the updated red one put in, still always keep a good battery supply and clean terminals as they don't do the power packs any good. That aside they're not a bad engine, bit rough at idle but good power and response through the range.

A customer of mine had one on a 475 centre console Quintrex and later sold it for a 600 McLay Cruiser with a Suzuki DF140 which he says uses only 2/3rds the fuel his 75 use to use.

Should have no probs there, what price they got on her?

You can get a new Suzuki DF90 for about $10 500.
